It Is Hard to Believe

It Is Hard To Believe How Faith Finds Us in the Middle of Brokenness

There are moments in life when pain becomes so heavy that hope feels impossible. Moments when the storms of life toss us around like waves in the sea, leaving us bruised, tired, and wondering if things will ever get better. For many people, it is hard to believe that life can improve after they have been through the rot of suffering, disappointment, abandonment, and heartbreak.

Sometimes the pain runs so deep that all we seem to have left are scars from broken wounds. No friends. No family. No one to call. No hand reaching out to help pull us from the darkness. In those moments, it can feel as though only God can rescue us from where we are.

Yet even in the middle of despair, there is a truth many of us forget: God has never abandoned us.

It is strange how human nature works. When life is good, many of us move through our days without thinking much about Jesus. We become comfortable in our success, our routines, and our independence. Prayer becomes occasional. Faith becomes distant. But when life falls apart—when we are broken, lost, and out of options—we suddenly cry out to God for help.

And still, He listens.

That alone is mercy.

Imagine for a moment if Jesus treated us the way people often treat Him. Imagine if He only showed up when it was convenient. Imagine if He ignored us during our darkest hours because we had ignored Him during our brightest days. What would we do then? Where would we turn?

The beauty of God’s love is that He is not like man. Human beings may walk away. Friends may disappear. Family may fail us. But God remains faithful, even when we are not. His love does not depend on our perfection. His grace is not earned by our strength.

Jesus meets people in broken places.

He meets the lonely.

He meets the wounded.

He meets those carrying scars nobody else can see.

The truth is, scars are not signs that God has forgotten us. Sometimes they are reminders that we survived what was meant to destroy us. Through every hardship, God continues to shape us, teach us, and draw us closer to Him.

Life may not change overnight. The pain may not disappear immediately. But hope begins when we realize that God still walks beside us, even through the darkest valleys.

So if you are in a season where everything feels lost, remember this: your story is not over. The same God who carried you through yesterday is still able to bring healing tomorrow.

And perhaps the greatest miracle of all is this: even when we forget Him, He never forgets us.
